Day off!

I had a great day out on Robson with Noelle today.

Initially the plan was to go to the beach, but it was too late by the time she got off work. I didn't want to stay out too late because I was hoping to catch a movie this evening as well, but it didn't happen. Oh well, tomorrow's another day I don't close.

So we went out shopping on Robson Street. Well, Noelle shopped more than me. SHE bought $70 at MAC, $20 at Gap, $170 at Le Chateau and swore she wasn't unhappy about anything (when I shop that vigourously, it means something's dreadfully wrong, and I'm compensating materialistically). It was actually a lot of fun.

I found this great shop on Robson called "One Tooth". Basically, it exists to be a Lululemon knockoff store. I went in there, and I found an exact replica of everything in the current Lululemon collection, except the Reverse Groove Pant. Everything! The Deep-V Tank, the Whisper Tank (my favourite, which I'll pick up next time I'm down there, since Lululemon doesn't have my colour in the real thing anymore) and all. I was like "wow..." I was thrilled because it was so easy to match my existing stuff, but I'm mad enough at Lululemon to not want to buy replacement pants there, and also I needed a new running pant because Lululemon wouldn't alter the waist on the Reverse Groove I have that falls down when I run. So I found some capris with an internal drawstring for $15, and couldn't be happier, because this means I won't have to search to find a tailor that can match the stitch on my Groove pants, with a flat-stitch in duotone of seafoam and black (remember, reversible pants mean different coloured seams). I can just use them in the gym, and use the capris on the road. Well done. Also picked up a new running jacket. It was a little expensive at $50, but it means that I can carry my cell phone with me when I'm out there, which is a huge safety plus. They also correspond with the blasted Lululemon pants.

My next purchase zone was Le Chateau. I think the stock in downtown Vancouver is a lot classier than the filth they sell in Metrotown. Maybe they think of Burnaby as too white trash? I found some NICE stuff in there. After two hours, and some time thinking, I came home with a beautiful cream and blossom satin halter top and an asym skirt that looks like all my other asym skirts in a lush burgundy fabric that feels like chamois. It looks SO hot with my high leather boots. Perhaps I'll photograph myself in it for you some day when I'm dolled up and my clothes aren't in the dryer. I'm too content with my gut hanging out of my Beatles shirt now to care.

TOTAL EXPENDITURE: $170 ... Funny thing is, I'm too materialistically content right now to feel guilty.
